Study Abroad in Canada- Living & Studying Expenses 

Studying in Canada is a good investment for the future considering the high-quality education and job prospects. Students from foreign countries have to meet the basic living and tuition costs in the country. They are required to provide proof of sufficient funds for meeting basic costs by the CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada).

The colleges or universities generally provide an estimate of the expected living costs. You will however have to prove CAD 10,000 in funds for meeting 12 months of living costs while studying in the country. An extra CAD 4,000 may be needed for your spouse and another CAD 3,000 for each additional dependent. This amount covers food, accommodation, books, clothing, transport, and medical insurance. Tuition and related academic costs are chargeable separately.

Medical insurance is a must in Canada since healthcare is quite costly in the country. Public insurance plans are independently implemented for every province. Some universities may ask for mandatory health insurance coverage. This should be obtained within the first week of your arrival.
